WHO ARE WE?

Javac is New Zealand and Australia's leading specialist in Vacuum & Refrigeration process engineering. Javac is dedicated to the long term, and invests heavily in research and development. This gives Javac the strength of manufacture, export, and security in an ever changing competitive market. Javac is recognized thought-out the world for vacuum pumps and refrigerant recovery. It is our competency, consistency and professionalism that puts Javac in the forefront of these highly competitive markets and makes us the leader in New Zealand and Australia.

OUR HISTORY

Javac remains a family company. It had its beginnings in 1960 when Ron Davies, the present chairman, commenced the manufacture of precision components such as universal joints and tube expanders. In 1970, as Jigtool High Vacuum, it commenced developing a line of High Vacuum Pumps known for their precision and reliability. Jigtool was the first in the world to offer an interchangeable vacuum pump cartridge, known as the VacPak.

The company changed its name to Javac in the early 80's soon after Andrew Davies, a professional engineer, joined the company. During the 1980's, Javac established itself as a serious supplier/manufacturer of quality High Vacuum equipment, indeed since 1986 Javac has represented the prestigious Leybold group in Australia and New Zealand. In 1990, following the Montreal Protocol to reduce ozone depletion, Javac introduced the RECO range of Refrigerant, Recovery and Charging Equipment. The late 1990's saw the introduction of the ECO high speed refrigerator filling machines, plus the amazing Xtract-R oil free recovery programme.

OUR CAPABILITIES

Javac has developed an impressive range of skills in High Vacuum Technology. These skills extend far beyond the manufacture of High Vacuum Pumps. We also build complex Vacuum & Refrigeration Equipment for specialist applications for Laboratory and Industrial applications.

Our determination to remain at the forefront of the Industry has meant an ongoing investment in advanced manufacturing equipment. This also gives us first-rate facilities for other services, such as the re-manufacture of pumps and associated equipment, calibration of gauges, leak detection and service of specialist gear such as Turbomolecular Pumps, Mechanical Boosters, Cryogenic Pumps, and Re-gassing of Helium and other refrigerants.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Javac has won two Australian Design Awards for innovative High Vacuum Pumps, and was runner up for the Prince Phillip Prize for Australian Design, and winner of the Banksia Environmental Award for the company's contribution to recycling of refrigerant.

Registered as a Defence supplier and NATA certified to AS9001 or ISO9001 quality systems, Javac is also represented on committees for Refrigerant standards in Australia, and is a member of many leading bodies involved with industry standards and guidelines.
